Celebration of the anniversary of Giuseppe Confaloni
This year, June 4, will be the forty-seventh anniversary of the death of fellow citizen Giuseppe Confaloni, born in Grotte di Castro on January 23, 1917. In 2023, the family informed the Municipal Administration of its willingness to donate 12 paintings painted by him with “the aim of making known the pictorial art of the illustrious fellow citizen”. The Municipal Administration of Grotte di Castro, with resolution of the Municipal Council no. 20 of 4 March 2023, resolved to accept the donation and to exhibit the works inside the Town Hall.
Retrospective exhibition on Confaloni
On the occasion of the donation of the works and the 47th anniversary of the artist’s death, it is intended to organize a retrospective exhibition to remember this fellow countryman who gave prestige to our land with his work. This initiative will be carried out by the Municipal Administration of Grotte di Castro, in collaboration with the Family, the Brazilian Embassy and the Pontifical Catholic University of Goiana.

A1 motorway: Orvieto exit, follow signs for Viterbo then for Bolsena, San Lorenzo Nuovo and then Grotte di Castro, piazza G. Marconi, 9.Train : Milan/Florence/Rome line. Get off at Orvieto and then continue by bus State roads: SS. Aurelia from Montalto di Castro then SS. Castrense towards Valentano up to Cantoniera di Latera, junction S.S.74 Maremmana to Grotte di Castro Strada Cassia to San Lorenzo Nuovo then turn in the direction of Grotte di Castro
