The Alvito Roots Festival continues with an Italian-American party to the sound of swing. Art and music as a universal aggregator of peoples and cultures. A festive evening with Italian-American culture at the center that could not have chosen a better genre than swing: it is a musical genre, born in the twenties and evolved to become a genre defined in 1935 in the United States. Swing is distinguished by a characteristic movement of the rhythm section and by a type of execution of the notes with a “rocking” rhythm, precisely swing in English, often combined by frenetic dances. He had his homeland in New York, where the young orchestras, with their absolute diversity, would mark and influence the future developments of Jazz until 1940. In the 30s it established itself in Italy, especially in Turin which was one of the centers of its diffusion, where Italian emigrants brought back the vibrations of this new genre. |
